In November of 2014 we participated at the Best5 4th International Construction and Building Industry, Heating-Ventilating-Air Conditioning, Window-Door, Flooring, Aluminum-Glass and Decoration Exhibition held at Safex Exhibition Center in Algiers, Algeria.
The Best5 trade show brings together North Africa’s and global buyers and suppliers to one of the biggest exhibitions in Algeria. This years edition hosted over 110 international companies from 11 different countries.
The Algerian government is making substantial investments to improve the country’s transport infrastructure and its acute housing shortage. Almost $50 billion is being allocated to the housing sector under a five-year plan. In an attempt to diversify the country’s economy and reduce dependence on energy revenues, the government announced a US$286 billion infrastructure development fund. Algerian construction industry is expected to record growth over the next few years. Political and social pressures are combining to open Algeria’s construction market to international competition, potentially making billion of dollars worth of contracts available to foreign companies. Local firms seem unable to satisfy the demand for new housing by themselves, so authorities are looking abroad.
